Marguerite R. (Papandrea) Popp

The family of Marguerite Popp, 89, are sad to announce her passing on March 10, 2025 in her home in Honey Brook, PA.

Born Marguerite Papandrea in Harrisburg to the late Joseph and Marian (Marino) Papandrea, she was the youngest of 5 sisters. Marguerite graduated from William Penn High School in 1953, and later married Van Popp of Steelton, PA; with whom she had two children, Diana Prowell (Ken) and Van Popp (Paige.)

A resident of Rutherford for over 50 years, she was employed by Bell Telephone, Harrisburg Hospital, Farmer’s Bank on Derry Street and PennDOT in Harrisburg. Her final years were spent living with her son’s family in Honey Brook, PA.

Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Van Popp; her sisters Helena Kasak (Hank), Jeannette Fetrow (Jim), Francis Enders (Paul), and Dorothy Hummelbaugh (Bob.) She is survived by both of her children and their spouses; her grandson Ben Popp; three step grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 in St. Catherine Laboure Roman Catholic Church, 4000 Derry Street, Harrisburg, PA 17111. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. A Viewing will be held in the church on Tuesday from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM.
