Marie Sassani

Marie (Posipanko) Sassani passed away August 11,2023.

Born December 8, 1933 in Mt. Carmel, PA. She graduated from Mt. Carmel High School, Class of 1951.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Michael, a son, David, and a daughter, Carol.

She is survived by a son, Stephen; three daughters; Diane, Louise (Scott) Steck, and Lisa; three grandsons; Michael, Daniel (Angela) and Justin; three granddaughters; Allison, Kelly and Megan (Donnie) Wiebel; four great-granddaughters, Brianna, Taylor, Jade and Tinsley; and one great-grandson, Aiden.

Marie was a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and jumbles. She was a great cook and hosted many family gatherings along with her late husband.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 10:30 am in Prince of Peace-Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 815 S. Second St. Steelton with Rev. Jonathan P. Sawicki, as Celebrant. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery at the convenience of the family. A viewing will be held on Friday from 9:00 am to 10:00 am in the Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 357 S. Harrisburg St. Oberlin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Prince of Peace Parish, 815 S. Second St. Steelton PA 17113 or Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Rd. Harrisburg PA 17110.
