Marie Sunajko

Marie "Mara" Malobovic Sunajko, 90, of Oberlin, died Monday, August 23, 2021 in UPMC Pinnacle Community Osteopathic Hospital, Lower Paxton Twp., after a short illness and surrounded by her loving family.

She was a retired Clerk for the Register of Wills for Dauphin County, a life member of St. Nicholas Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church, Oberlin, a founding member of its Mothers Club, and a member of St. Nicholas Seniors, Serbian National Federation Lodge #37, Serbian-American Education and Civic Club, and a former member of SSS Marinkovich Choir.

Mara was the daughter of the late Rade and Sara Mravich Malobovic and the widow of Michael "Misho" Sunajko, Sr. She is survived by two sons, Joseph Sunajko of Oberlin and Michael Sunajko, Jr. and his wife, Rosanne Placey Sunajko of Lower Swatara Twp.; one daughter, Michelle Sunajko Kingsbury and her husband, Donald of Chambers Hill; two grandchildren, Bradley and Tyler; and four great grandchildren, Faith, Ava, Owen and Ethan.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 11:00 am in St. Nicholas Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church, Oberlin with Rev. Christopher Rocknage, her Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Churchville Cemetery, Oberlin. A viewing will be held on Friday from 9:00 am until 11:00 am in her church. Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Oberlin is handling arrangements.
