Mary Elizabeth Dormer

Mary E. Dormer, 88, of Bressler, died on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital, after a short illness. She was a Charter Member of Bressler Bible Church and worked for the State of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg.

She was a great storyteller and loved to bake her favorite cookies. She loved spending time on the Susquehanna River boating and swimming. At their cabin in Huntingdon, she liked watching the deer. She collected Porcelain Dolls and was an artist leaving us with some great paintings.

She is survived by her husband, David Dormer, Sr.; brother, Gerald Hightower and wife, Judy of New Orleans, LA; a son, Rev. David D. Dormer, Jr. of Chambers Hill; a daughter, Sandie L.Dormer of Bressler; three granddaughters, Tammy Dormer, April Starner and husband, Dwayne, and Rayna Novinger and husband, Jeremy; and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Ray A. Dormer and Paul H. Dormer; two brothers, Huston Hightower and Paul Hightower; and a sister, Grace Hightower.

Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 11:00 am in Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 357 S. Harrisburg St., Oberlin with Rev. Joseph Catani, officiating.
