Mary Fanus

Mary Eileen (Haines) Fanus, 65, of Swatara Twp. died Thursday June 1, 2023 in her home.

Mary was a graduate of Central Dauphin East High School, Class of 1975. She furthered her studies and graduated from Thompson Institute of Harrisburg where she received an Associates degree as a Pharmaceutical Technician. She then became a Pharmaceutical Technician for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and for more than 20 years was a Bartender for Applebee''s Restaurant on Jonestown Road.

Mary was an avid Penn State fan, loved the beach at Ocean City and their camp in Sinnemahoning, PA., She loved spending time with her grandson, listening to music and loved watching her husband play his bass guitar in the band Soul Solution.

She was the daughter of the late William Haines and Noreen L. (Mattern) Haines of Tunkhannock, PA. Mary is survived by her husband, Robert L. Fanus, Harrisburg; two daughters, Heidi R. Trecoske-Haines and companion Chad E. Whitaker, Enola and Linnette C. Knight and husband David, Enola; one grandson, Julian D. Knight, Enola; several nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Patti Bartsch, Bill Haines and Donna Haines.

Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday June 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM in Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 357 South Harrisburg St. Oberlin, PA. A visitation will be from 10:00 am - 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial at the conclusion of services will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
