Mary Ellen McAnulty Fisher, 96, of Ecumenical Retirement Community, Susquehanna Twp. and formerly of Steelton, died Friday, August 23, 2024 in the Retirement Community.
She was a retired Supervisor for Dauphin Deposit Bank & Trust Co., a member of the former St. James Roman Catholic Church, a member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, Steelton, attended Harrisburg Catholic High School for one year and graduated from Immaculate Heart Academy, Fountain Springs, PA.
Mary Ellen was the daughter of the late Michael L. and Mary Kenney McAnulty and the widow of William J. Fisher. She is survived by one son, William M. Fisher and his wife, Colleen; two daughters, Mary Catherine Fackler and Ellen Marie Miscannon, widow of Bernard J. Miscannon, Jr.; seven grandchildren, Jason, Brian, Matthew, Lisa, Nathaniel, Andrew and Erin; six great grandchildren, Asinette, McKayla, Gavin, Madison, Ryan, and Penelope; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Barbara A. Fisher Gain; two brothers, Rev. Msgr. John J. McAnulty and Leo P. McAnulty; one sister, Gertrude Fuhrman; and her great granddaughter, Leah Gain.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 11:00 am in Prince of Peace-Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 815 S. Second St., Steelton with Rev. Jonathan P. Sawicki as Celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 9:00 am until 10:30 am in Wiedeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 357 South Harrisburg St., Oberlin, PA 17113.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sisters of Mercy Retirement Fund, 301 Lake Street, Dallas, PA 18612.
