Mary Elizabeth (Snyder) Stadler, 82, of Middletown, passed away at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital on Wednesday, July 17, 2024. Born in Brandywine, WV, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Louise (Hively) Snyder. She was the loving wife of the late Ronald H. Stadler, who passed in 2005. Mary worked as an accountant, starting her career with Nationwide Insurance, then Pomeroy’s Department Store, and for the Comptroller’s office for Labor, Education, and Community Services for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania until her retirement. After retirement, she volunteered with the American Cancer Society and WITF where she earned a Volunteer of the Year award. Mary was a member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish. She was a past Treasurer for the Hershey Bears Booster Club, where she also manned the Booster Club Box with her husband. She was also an avid reader.
Mary is survived by her daughter Kathy Vujasin and her husband George T., Jr. of Colonial Park; her granddaughter Sara Ashley Vujasin of Philadelphia; her brothers William L. Snyder of Whitsett, NC and James K. Snyder of Harrisburg; and her sisters L. Jean Straw of Lititz and Leta Sweger of Granite Falls, NC. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Donald Snyder, and sister Patricia O’Steen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Prince of Peace- Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 815 S 2nd Street, Steelton, PA 17113, on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at 11:00 AM with Reverend Steven J. Arena, her pastor, as Celebrant. Committal will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. A Viewing will take place at Wiedeman Funeral Home, 357 S Harrisburg Street, Oberlin, PA 17113 on Tuesday from 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org http://www.cancer.org or to Hospice of Central PA at www.hospiceofcentralpa.org http://www.hospiceofcentralpa.org
