Matthew Slabonik

Matthew P. Slabonik, 59, of Lawnton, died Tuesday, July 16, 2024 in UPMC Community Osteopathic Hospital, Lower Paxton Twp.

He was a highway construction employee for New Enterprise Co. and former owner and operator of BWB Demolition Co. He was a member of St. Catherine Laboure Roman Catholic Church, Swatara Twp. and Blue Ridge Gun Club.

Matt was the son of the late William and Helen Gorse Slabonik and is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Linda J. Bibb Slabonik; three daughters, Sara L. (Yaya) Slabonik and husband, Philip Fahnestock of Collingswood, NJ, Emily L. (Emmy) Slabonik Prentice and husband, Hugh of Easton, PA, and Suzy M. (Biggie Big) Slabonik at home; sisters and brothers, Helen Richards and husband, Hiram, Kathleen Nenninger and husband, Paul, William Slabonik and wife, Patricia, James Slabonik, Mary Sill, John Slabonik, Barbara Reitz and husband, Stephen, Theresa Salinger and husband, David, Mark Slabonik and wife, Maria, Frances Slabonik and wife, Lori, Anne Myers and husband, Ronald, and Luke Slabonik and wife, Kelly; three grandchildren, Lincoln Fahnestock, Hugh Prentice and Simon Matthew Prentice; father-in-law, Marlin Bibb; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as his beloved cat, "Smokey" and grand-dog, "Sarge". He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Nancy Bibb.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 11:00 am in St. Catherine Laboure Roman Catholic Church, 4000 Derry St., Swatara Twp. with Rev. Drew Tanguay, Parochial Vicar as Celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm in Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 357 So. Harrisburg St., Oberlin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
