Michael G. Vajdic, Jr.

Michael G. Vajdic, Jr. lovingly known as Woody, 73, of Lewisberry, formerly of Bressler passed away suddenly at UPMC Harrisburg on Monday, February 10th, 2025. Born on June 10th, 1951 to the late Michael G. Vajdic, Sr. and Ellamae (Reininger) Vajdic. He was the eldest of nine children, their first son, our first big brother.

Woody received his Bachelor's Degree from Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA in 1973. He was a 1969 Bishop McDevitt High School graduate and a student of the former Assumption Blessed Virgin Mary Elementary School, Steelton. He was a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Mechanicsburg, PA.

After retirement from Motor Truck in Carlisle as the Warranty Manager, he began to find new passions in life. Woody moved home with our Mom after our Dad passed. He did the best he could until his own health issues made it difficult. He enjoyed going camping Upstate with his best buddies/spouses/children and brothers/children. He liked to backpack and hike. He loved shopping for collectibles: knives, birds, jewelry boxes , coins... you name it he could find it or had it. Woody enjoyed cooking and made some unique combinations. He started an interest in photography; clouds, Pinchot Park, nature in general. He was an avid decktop gardener. Loved western movies. Woody recently joined Facebook and was getting quite good at posting and keeping in touch with friends, family and alumni. Our family group text was a constant with him; any event we got a group text.

But his most important life-long passion was being the ultimate Pittsburgh Steelers fan (always coaching and texting from the recliner!) Our memories will last forever!

Woody was a great son, nephew, big brother, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and loyal friend. He is survived by his eight siblings, Thomas E. Vajdic (Patty), Anthony J. Vajdic, Mark W. Vajdic, Christine M. Vajdic- Johnson, Joanne M. Vajdic, Gregory A. Vajdic, Robert E. Vajdic, and Diane E. Vajdic; 14 nieces and nephews; Wayne N. Johnson Jr. (Heidi), Nicole Johnson (boyfriend Ty), Caitlin Vajdic (boyfriend Jason), Carson Vajdic (Lauren),Christopher Tobias, Jessica (Vajdic) Crawford,Treyton Vajdic (fiancée Jessica), Robert M. Vajdic (girlfriend Missy), Michael A. Vajdic, Stephan C. Vajdic, Tory D. Vajdic, Tracy Derr (Brett), Thomas P. Vajdic , Lisa Turnbull (TJ). Nine great-nieces and nephews; Andre`, Jazmine, Nicholas, Kyrah, Payton, Tyson, Madison, Raegan, and Jase. Cousin Donna Santangelo and her children, Jann, David and Jay. Woody leaves many special life long loyal friends and their spouses/children and considered a part of our Vajdic family.
