Nancy Ethel (Neubaum) Drayer, 99, of Harrisburg, passed away at Hershey Medical Center on Monday, August 12, 2024. Born in Steelton, she was the daughter of the late Frank E. and Florence E. (Rothrock) Neubaum. She was the loving wife of the late Howard David “Red” Drayer, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage until his passing in 2008.
Nancy was a 1943 graduate of Steelton High School and a graduate of Harrisburg Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of the Harrisburg Hospital Alumni Nurses Association. She was an active member of Harrisburg First Assembly of God Church, where she sang in the choir.
Nancy enjoyed singing, cooking and baking, reading- especially history and poetry, and quilting. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be missed by all.
Nancy is survived by her sons David M. Drayer and his wife Sandra L. of Steelton, and William D. Drayer and his wife Joannie of Harrisburg; her grandchildren Erin L. Drayer of Harrisburg and Douglas W. Drayer of Harrisburg, and her great-grandchildren Krista Drayer and Colton Drayer; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brothers Ted Neubaum, Frank Neubaum, and Earl “Mickey” Neubaum; and her sister Florence “Flossie” Coy.
A Memorial Service will take place on Monday, August 19, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Harrisburg First Assembly of God Church, 4100 N Progress Avenue, Harrisburg, PA 17110, with Reverend Terry Lamer officiating. A Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:30 AM-11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in New Cumberland.
