Olive Stewart

Olive E. Winston Stewart "Betty", 83, of Oberlin Gardens, died Thursday, May 26, 2022 in UPMC - Community Osteopathic Campus.

She was a retired computer analyst for the Mechanicsburg Naval Depot with over 30 years of service. She was a member of the Red Hat Society - Rubie Red Hottie Chapter of Harrisburg and Red Hat Lacie Racie Ladies Chapter; she was a member of the Horticultural Society of Harrisburg & Hershey and an organizer for the International Training & Communication for Central PA.

Olive was involved in WomanCare of Central PA and was involved with the Jewish Community Center of Harrisburg, an organizer and involved with Rutherford House; attended Progress Church of God, Harrisburg and attended St. Paul A.M.E. Church, Oberlin. She was an avid traveler, enjoyed crafts and flowers and had a special interest of Ikebana (Japanese Flower Arranging).

She is survived by her daughter, Hallie A. Stewart-Johnson, and her companion Joseph Singleton of Oberlin; one granddaughter, Rickelle T. wife of Cherise N. Bowman-Robinson, Middletown; her grand-dogs, Lexi and Rocco. Olive was preceded in death by her son, John H. Stewart and her mother Gladys Naomi Winston.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 12:00 pm in Wiedeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 357 South Harrisburg Street, Oberlin, with the Rev. R. Mim Roberts-Harvey, Pastor, St. Paul A.M.E. Church, Officiating. Burial will be in East Harrisburg Cemetery at the conclusion of services. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 11:00 am - 11:45 am in the funeral home.
