Orion Anthony Bekelja, 28, of Bressler, Pennsylvania tragically passed away on August 6th,, 2023.
Orion was born on November 27th, 1994 to Richard Bekelja, Jr. and Anita Day (Alwine) in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Orion attended Prince of Peace Catholic School through Eighth Grade and Graduated from Central Dauphin East High School.
He enjoyed being active at all times whether that was fishing, archery, playing with his dog, working on trucks, riding motorcycles, towing for a living or his favorite thing; always being able to go above and beyond by being there for everyone who asked for help. In Orion''s downtime he enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the social clubs around Steelton and the Tri-Community area. He was an active, outgoing and fun-loving member at the St. Mary''s Catholic Club, Dutch Club and Bressler Friendship Fire Club.
With Orion always wanting to be able to lend a helping hand and show that he was not scared of any situation he joined the local Junior Firefighter program at the earliest age possible. Orion was able to show his hard work and dedication to his community at; Citizens Fire Company 1 of Penbrook, Swatara Township Fire Company Station 49, Steelton Fire Department Station 50 and Paxtang Fire Company Station 40.
Orion is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Charles R. Day. He is survived by his paternal grandparents Richard Bekelja Sr., Deborah Bekelja and maternal grandmother Shirley Day; father Richard Bekelja Jr., stepmother Nicole Bekelja, mother Anita Alwine, stepfather James Alwine; his sister, Alyia Barnes, his brothers, Kaden Bekelja, Logan Bekelja, Cameron Adams, Austin Adams and Brayden Bekelja; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 14, 2023 from 9:30 am - 11:30 am in Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 357 South Harrisburg Street, Oberlin. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, at 12:00 pm in Prince of Peace - Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 815 South Second Street, Steelton, with Rev. Steven Arena, Pastor, Celebrant. Burial at the conclusion of Mass will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
