Patricia Murawski

Patricia M. Murawski, 89, of Harrisburg, passed away at home surrounded by family on Tuesday evening, August 13, 2024. She was born on December 22, 1934 in Mt. Carmel, PA and was the eldest of four children of the late Peter and Veronica (Dugan) Strike. Pat was the loving wife of Stephen A. Murawski with whom she shared 62 years of devoted marriage.


After graduating from Mt. Carmel High School she moved to Harrisburg, PA where she lived her adult life. She took her first job as a Bell Telephone operator on Pine Street in Harrisburg. As well as a homemaker, she also worked in retail in several department stores including John Wanamaker, Hecht’s and Macy’s, where she retired. She was an active member of St. Catherine Laboure Roman Catholic Church, and a member of The Legion of Mary. She enjoyed laughing, playing cards, baking, shopping, dancing and spending time with family and friends. She loved talking to and learning about people. Most of all, she was a caring, loving and dedicated wife, mother, and nana and will be missed deeply by all.

In addition to her husband, Pat is survived by her daughters Kim Murawski and her husband Clarke Woods, and Karen Geckle and her husband Allen; her grandchildren Katelyn Murawski, Alyssa Geckle, and Karyssa Geckle; her sisters Diane Ficca (husband, Frank) and Carol Tinsley (husband, Rusty); and her sister-in-law Sally Strike; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Donald Strike.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at on Monday, August 26, 2024, 11:00 AM at St. Catherine Laboure Roman Catholic Church, 4000 Derry Street, Harrisburg, PA 17111. A Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM. Committal will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
