Richard Benkovic

Richard Joseph Benkovic, 84, died Wednesday February 22, 2023 in Lebanon VA Medical Center.

He was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired as a Supervisor of the loading gang at Bethlehem Steel in Steelton, PA. After retirement he preached at the Bressler Bible Church, taught Sunday School, and did Outreach Ministries for many years. Richard was an avid handyman and would fix things for many people along the way.

He was the son of the late Stanley and Mary (Bensic) Benkovic and was preceded in death by his siblings, Stanley Benkovic, Dorothy Giese, Mary Bosnjak, Elizabeth Noriega, and Ruth Anoka. He is survived by his son, Stephen R. Benkovic of Middletown; stepson Michael J. Hartman of West Fairview; daughters, Eileen M. Jones of Venice, Florida and Christine M. Benkovic of Middletown; grandchildren, Natalija M. Benkovic, Nadija N. Benkovic, Emma C. Erkenswick, Sean C. Erkenswick, Katlian Erkenswick all of Middletown, Alexandra E. Hartman, Fallon C. Hartman, Allison E. Scribani (Philip) of Lancaster, and Andrew D. Jones of Fort Myers, Florida; and a great-grandchild, Vincent Scribani of Lancaster; surviving siblings, sister Gertrude Ribec of Harrisburg, brother, Robert Benkovic of Harrisburg, and Ronald Benkovic of West Hanover Twp. .

Services will be at the Convenience of the family with inurnment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at a later date.
