Richard Joseph DiMuccio, 75, of Harrisburg, passed away at Newport Medical Center, Newport, TN, on Thursday, July 18, 2024. Born in New Castle, PA, he was the son of the late James and Philomena (Mingione) DiMuccio. He was the loving husband of Carol (Riccio) DiMuccio, with whom he shared 21 years of marriage.
Richard served in the US Air Force as a Sergent from 1969 until 1975. He worked for Republic Services as a salesman until his retirement, then worked as a driver for Faulkner Automotive Group for the past 8 years. For over 20 years, he was an usher for Hershey Entertainment, where he made many lifelong friends. He also volunteered for Big Brothers Big Sisters for many years. He was a member of St. Catherine Laboure Roman Catholic Church.
Richard was known for his love of sports. He played football and baseball throughout High School and his time in the service and would later attend all of the games for his children and grandchildren. He was an avid Steelers fan. He also loved music and would attend concerts whenever possible.
In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by his children Robin Shane and her husband John of Tujunga, CA, Jennifer DiMuccio of Harrisburg, and Rikki Blouch and her husband Daniel of Palmyra; his stepchildren Eric Maltese of Doylestown and Alissa Maltese of Harrisburg; his grandchildren Mason Liartis, Tessa Liartis, Jacob Gonzalez, Carl Gonzalez, Alyvia Simmons, and Cameron Rey; his siblings James “Moochie” DiMuccio, Barbara Mangino, and Michael DiMuccio; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Catherine Laboure Roman Catholic Church, 4000 Derry Street, Harrisburg, PA 17111 with Rev. Drew Tanguay, Parochial Vicar as Celebrant. Committal will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A Viewing will take place on Monday, July 29, 2024 at Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services from 6:00 PM-8:00PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region at www.capbigs.org http://www.capbigs.org
