Richard Drake

Richard. E. Drake, 87, of Harrisburg, passed away at Stonebridge Health and Rehab Center. Born in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Donald A. and Anna Mae (Kunkle) Drake. He was the loving husband of the late Peggy (Beane) Drake, who passed in 2014.

Richard was a Y Professional for the YMCA and a Bus Driver for CAT Transit. He served as President of the Lion''s Club in Rutherford for several years and volunteered with Greater Harrisburg Youth for Christ for many years. He loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He attended Deep Rivers church and near the end attended Grace Bible Fellowship Church with his family. In his younger years, he enjoyed golfing and playing bridge. He was a devoted family man and loved spending time with his children and especially his grandchildren.

Richard is survived by his son, Michael Drake (wife, Jolene); his grandchildren Brianna, Peter, Josiah, Nathanael, and Geoffrey Richard Drake; as well as his daughter in law, Debbie Drake. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Scott Drake; sister, Barbara Dukes, and one grandchild.

A Celebration of Life service will be held for Richard on November 25th at Grace Bible Fellowship Church 1250 Colonial Road Harrisburg PA 17112. The service will start at 10:00 AM with brunch to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
