Richard Gidaro

Richard Joseph " Rich" Gidaro, 82, of Harrisburg, entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 18, 2021.

Rich was born on March 3, 1939, the son of the late Joseph and Irene Gidaro. He was a devout Catholic, a member of Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus. Rich was an avid sports fan and adored watching his grandchildren participate in many sports and activities. Family was very important to Rich. He truly embraced his role as a Grandfather, and loved spending time with his family.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Patricia (Potochney) Gidaro; one daughter, Gina Gidaro Shroy and her husband Jason of Harrisburg; two grandchildren, Tyler Richard and Kiley Irene Shroy; and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his sister, Marcelene Carroll.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday June 29, 2021 at 12:30 pm in Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 6150 Allentown Blvd., Harrisburg, PA 17112, with the Rev. Edward J. Quinlan, his Pastor ,officiating. A visitation will be held from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm in his church. Burial with full military honors will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
