Richard Jay Reynolds, Sr., 59, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on the morning of April 7, 2025, in his home. Born on November 19, 1965, Richard spent his life rooted in the community he loved.
Rich was a devoted husband to Evangelista Reynolds and a loving father to his children: Nikita and her husband, Nathan Goss, Dannielle and her husband, Steven Newcomer, and Richard Jay Reynolds Jr. and his wife, Chelsea. Grandfather to Owen Newcomer and Katerina Reynolds of whom he took immense pride. Brother to his sisters, Dodie Reynolds, Stacey Turner, and Cherrelle Reynolds- whose bond was one of enduring closeness and mutual support. Rich’s memory also lives on through his parents, brothers, and sister in law as well as numerous nieces and nephews, who were part of his cherished family circle.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard L. Reynolds, his mother, Elizabeth J. Reynolds, and his brother, Scott Reynolds.
For over three decades, Rich dedicated himself to his work as a materials receiver at UPMC/Pinnacle. His 31 years of service reflected not only his strong work ethic but also his commitment to supporting the healthcare system and those it served.
Outside of work and family life, Rich found joy in simple pleasures. He enjoyed watching television-especially dramas and sports-and was a lifelong Philadelphia Eagles fan. Whether cheering on his team or relaxing with a favorite show, these moments brought him comfort and connection. He cherished camping trips with his wife, Evie and their beloved service dog, Lily. Evenings out for dinner and movies with Evie and their children were among the times he held most dear.
Those who knew Rich remember him as funny, charismatic, generous, and deeply devoted-to his family above all else. His presence brought warmth to every room he entered.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM at Wiedeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., located at 357 S Harrisburg St., Oberlin, Pennsylvania 17113.
