Richard J. Zerance, 78, of Etters, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021 in UPMC Pinnacle Harrisburg Hospital.
He was a retired Construction Inspector for PPandL and an active Representative for the Union members. He was a former employee of Harrisburg State Hospital and Stroehmans Bakery. Richard was a member of Holy Infant Roman Catholic Church, Manchester, an avid outdoorsman and loved archery, hunting and fishing.
He was the son of the late Nickolas and Theresa Papp Zerance and is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Murlin Zerance; two daughters, Teri Zerance Lesher of Harrisburg and Jamie Zerance of Steelton; two sons, Richard J. Zerance and wife, Jeri of Red Lion and Randy Zerance and wife, Nina of California; a step-daughter, Cheryl Rhinier and husband, Rob and their five children of Michigan; two step-sons, Steven R. Good and wife, Jacqui of Harrisburg and Robert Wrightstone of York; one brother, William "Billy" Zerance of English Center, PA; three grandchildren; one great grandson; two step-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Theresa Magaro, Frances Runkle Ofak, Mary Ann Keleman, and Margaret (Peggy) Slovinac; and a brother, Nickolas (Buddy) Zerance.
The viewing scheduled in Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 357 South Harrisburg St., Oberlin, will remain as originally scheduled on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.
DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL WILL BE CELEBRATED ON WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 3, 2021 AT 10:30 am IN HOLY INFANT ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, MANCHESTER. A viewing will be held in the church on Wednesday from 9:30 am until 10:30 AM.
Private burial will be in Churchville Cemetery, Oberlin. Current COVID-19 restrictions will be enforced - face masks and social distancing will be required.
