Obituary of Robert Blazina
Robert J. "Bob" Blazina, CPA, 75, originally of Steelton, PA, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, after a lengthy illness.
He was a retired partner with Martin M. Sacks and Associates and a graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School ('63) and Pennsylvania State University ('71).
He was the son of the late Anthony J. and Anna T. (Mesaric) Blazina. He was also predeceased by his brother Anthony (Gloria). He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, S. Irene Dickey Blazina; sister Jacqueline Boyer (Gene), daughter Andrea D. Johnson (Michael); and son Randy J.; as well as five grandchildren, Matthew and Kylie Johnson, Tyler, Chelsea, and Treylin Blazina.
He was a member of St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church, Dauphin. Bob was devoted to his entire family and his career as a CPA at MMSandA. He was a proud grandfather. Spending time with Pap was fishing, baking his famous cookies, and doing puzzles. He loved traveling, including countless road trips to watch BG football games and trips abroad to visit their foreign exchange students. Bob was a mentor to countless MMSandA staff members, clients, and colleagues. The Firm's mission statement "Clients don't care what you know, until they know that you care" was his motto. He also spent hours on his deck watching his beloved Philadelphia teams and talking sports at the weekly poker games. Gatherings with friends from the old neighborhood were always filled with endless laughter. Big Bob's oversized personality brought joy to the lives he touched. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
Due to COVID-19, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the convenience of the family in St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church, Dauphin with Very Rev. Paul M. Clark, JCL, his Pastor, as Celebrant. Private burial will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Oberlin.
