Robert F. Lescanec, 88, of Steelton, died Monday, August 22, 2022 in his home.
He was a retired Technician for the Borough of Steelton Water Department, a peacetime veteran of the US Army, and a member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, St. Lawrence Lodge No. 13, Croatian Fraternal Union, and Fifth Ward Republican Club, all of Steelton and Friendship Fire Co. Club, Bressler.
Robert was the son of the late Mato and Mary B. Flaynik Lescanec and the widower of Betty Lou Rishel Lescanec. He is survived by two sons, Robert M. Lescanec and wife, Danette and John S. Lescanec, both of Steelton; one daughter, Lu-Ann Handley and husband, Tim of Highspire; one brother, Lawrence Lescanec of Bressler; six grandchildren, Paige, Chelsea, Rebecca, Tanner, Tia and Tristen; and two great grandchildren, Ronan and Charlotte. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Mato, John and Raymond Lescanec and one sister, Mary Bekelja.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 26, 2022 at 11:00 am in Prince of Peace-Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Jonathan P. Sawicki, his Pastor, as Celebrant. Private burial will be in Churchville Cemetery, Oberlin. There will be no viewing or visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Oberlin.
