Robert Loncar Sr.

Robert J. Loncar Sr. 90, of Harrisburg, passed away peacefully on Saturday July 17, 2021 in Frey Village Retirement Center.

He was born in Bressler on August 11, 1930, the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Gustin) Loncar. Robert was of the Catholic faith and a 1948 graduate of Harrisburg Catholic High School (now Bishop McDevitt). He was a United States Air Force Veteran serving from 1950 to 1954 with HQ 317th Troop Carrier Group in Germany. Robert was retired from PPL Electric as a construction Foreman. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #998 of Lawton. Robert was a member and ushered for many years at St. Andrews''s In The Valley Episcopal Church. He was an avid bowler and played on many leagues over the years.

He is survived by his wife; Dolores McCowan, and children; Robert Loncar Jr. (Jamie), Keith Loncar (Dion), Brian Loncar (Mike), Kevin Loncar (Deb), Angela Janosko (Mike), Jeffrey Loncar (Barbara), Timothy Loncar (Theresa), and step-son Michael Meck (Leslie).18 grandchildren/step grandchildren; Brandon (Amanda), Dylan, Lauren, Wesley, Adam (Katelyn), Amanda Boyer (Dustin), Abby Ly (Sang), Nicole Frey (Terry), Heather Hagan (Jeff),Samantha, Rebekah Mesaric, Nick (Robin), Danielle Badders (Brad),Chris ( Cassy Maurice), Christine, Michael, Noelle, and Morgan; 23 great grandchildren/stepgrandchildren, Breanna, Brandon Jr., Martini, Emerson, Chole, Mia, Tatum, Lily, Kenton, Brendan, Jayden, Zella, Zia, Zoe, Kaley, Zalek, Madison, Logan, Riley, Conor, Owen, Berkley, and Axle; one great great grandchild, Jackson; Sisters; Elizabeth (Ibby) Loncar, Catherine Mrksic (Daniel), Brother; James (Zoey); sister in law, Rosemary Loncar; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by; Wife Anna Delores Schaeffer and brother Edward Loncar.

Memorial services will be held on Friday July 23, 2021 at 11:00 am in Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 357 S. Harrisburg St. Oberlin with the Rev. Canon Nelson. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be in Churchville Cemetery.
