Obituary of Robert Mrgich
Bozidar Robert Mrgich, 91, of Palmyra, formerly of Steelton and Rutherford, died Thursday, December 17, 2020 in his home.
He was born January 7, 1929, son of the late Milutin and Danica Vasich Mrgich. He was predeceased by two sisters, Mildred Mrgich and Annie Mrgich Macut.
Bob graduated from Steelton High School in 1947 and Lebanon Valley College in 1951 with a Bachelor of Science Degree and a major in Economics and Business. Upon graduating from Lebanon Valley College, he enlisted in the US Air Force and served during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of St. Nicholas Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church, Oberlin, where he served on the Church Executive Board for more than 30 years, many as Auditor and Investment Adviser. Bob began his 35 year career with PA National Insurance Company.
Bob is survived by his wife, Judith A. Blouch Mrgich, whom he married on 9/17/1961; two sons, David M. and wife, Diane of Stewartstown, Robert D. and wife, Jess of Mt. Joy; two daughters, Valerie Reigel and husband, Todd of Virginia and Amy E. Hewitt and husband, Rusty of Palmyra; ten grandchildren, Taylor, Jordyn, Jensen, Grayson, Kaila, Cody, Chase, Troy, Cole and Ben; six great grandchildren, Landry, Bo, Logan, Carter, Weston and Parker; and brother, Peter and wife, Barb of Lake Meade.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 11:00 am in St. Nicholas Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church, Oberlin with Rev. Christopher Rocknage, his Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with full military honors. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am in his church. Current COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines for the Commonwealth of PA will be enforced. Face masks and social distancing will be required. Arrangements are being handled by Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Oberlin.
