Obituary of Samuel Barbush, Sr.
Samuel A. Barbush, Sr., 84, of Ecumenical Communities, Susquehanna Twp. and formerly of Chambers Hill, died Friday, December 25, 2020 at UPMC Pinnacle Harrisburg Hospital.
He was a Peacetime Veteran of the US Army, a graduate of Steelton High School Class of 1954 and attended Prep School in Connecticut.
Sam was the former Vice President of Cumberland County Savings and Loan and President of the former Mechanics Savings and Loan Assn., Steelton. He was the former co-owner of Roller Inn, Barbush Imports and Exports, The Fieldhouse Bar and Restaurant, Porch Restaurant and City Subs.
He was a member of the former St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, Steelton, a life member of the Steelton Italian Club and a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Harrisburg. Sam loved Franklin and Marshall Girls Basketball team and spending quality time with his entire family.
He was the son of the late Louis and Florence Spizzirri Barbush and the widower of Margaret A. Kutchever Barbush. He is survived by one son, Samuel A. Barbush, Jr. and his wife, Dawn of Etters; one daughter, Stephanie A. Morrow and her husband, Tony of Harrisburg; one sister, Rose Marie Barbush Hughes of Lititz; four grandchildren, Alexa, Francesca, Antoinette and Vincent; two great grandchildren, Ellianna and Lucia; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 4, 2021 at 11:00 am in Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 357 SOUTH HARRISBURG ST., OBERLIN with Rev. Philip White OFM, Cap officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Monday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. Current COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines for the Commonwealth of PA will be enforced. Face masks and social distancing will be required.
