SylviaSally Rossi Salinger, 91, of Harrisburg, passed away at Kindred Place on Monday, December 25, 2023 with family by her side and her daughter holding her hand. Born in Steelton, she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Elizabeth LiBrandi Rossi. She was the loving wife of the late Bernard Bernie Salinger.
Sally worked for the PA Department of Revenue as a Clerk until her retirement. She was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Catherine Laboure Roman Catholic Church, where she was a member of the choir. She loved music and singing. She was also a member of the Golden Hearts Club, the Rutherford Amvets Auxiliary, and the Lawnton American Legion 998 Auxiliary. She valued family above all else and was especially devoted to her grandchildren.
Sally is survived by her children Deborah Miller (husband, Brian Banks) of Harrisburg and Michael Salinger (wife, Cynthia Lorie) of Carlisle; her grandchildren Jennifer Miller of Austin, TX, Sarah Salinger of Hershey, and Cory Miller of Harrisburg; her great-grandson Donovan Miller of Camp Hill; and her siblings Dolores Eberly (husband, Bob) of Mechanicsburg and Louis Rossi; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by six siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Catherine Laboure Church, Shrine of the Miraculous Medal, 4000 Derry Street, Harrisburg, PA 17111 on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Rev. James Lease as celebrant. Committal will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A Visitation will take place at the church one hour prior to services at 10:00 AM.
