Timothy R. Cox was born on February 24, 1953 to Elwood Cox and Margaret Waltz Cox in Harrisburg, PA.
Tim established many life-long friends while attending OLBS, Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, during his formative years and prior to graduating from Bishop McDevitt High School in 1971. To quote the OLBS class historian, “Tim was and always will be one of the UPTOWN BOYS creating many stories and memories of Tim’s antics, as he was quite the character.”
Tim went on to study Political Science at American University for a minute. He transferred to HACC, earning an associates degree allowing him to pursue his entrepreneurial passion before kickstarting a career in home remodeling and founding TLC Handyman Services and Cox Renovations.
In 1982 he met his perfect match in Leann at a Brothers’ Brown Ms. PacMan tournament. Tim and Leann created a beautiful, magical life only to be accented with the birth of Victoria (Tori) who is his pride and joy. He loved being the father of a strong, talented, effervescent, unique personality. “It’s a palindrome, Tor! 4/28/24.”
Tim retired in 2019, devoting his retirement years to making life good for his girls, creating memories and having fun.
Tim was predeceased by his parents and his brother, his BEST friend, Elwood (Woody) Cox. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Leann [Tepsich] Cox, his daughter, Victoria Cox, her partner Max Stelzer; his niece Kate [Cox] and Chris Riordan; brothers and sisters-in-law Lee Tepsich and Martha [Humphrey]; Len Tepsich and Christina [Porter]; Lori [Tepsich] and Loren Good; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and fam-friends.
Tim loved a cold Beck’s, a rod-n-reel in his hands, and with Motown on the bluetooth. Tim and brother Woody spent many hours fishing off of the shores of Cape Canaveral and Cocoa Beach and on the Banana River. He enjoyed fishing The Susquehanna River, crabbing in the Delaware Bay, and fishing and ice skating at Italian Lake back in the day.
Tim always had a smile, a ‘sneaky-Pete’ story, an anecdote, a joke, or a colorful comment for anyone he met. Tim loved life!
May Timothy’s soul dwell with the righteous and be numbered among the just, and may his memory be eternal.
