William J. "Bill" Knerr, 73 of Harrisburg, passed suddenly, on Saturday August 8, 2021.
Bill was born in Ashland PA, on October 26, 1947, the son of the late John and Betty Knerr. He was a graduate of Middletown High School Class of 1965. After high school, Bill received his Associates Degree from HACC. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam War. Bill retired as a civil engineer for the PA Utility Commission, was a current member of the Paxtang Lion''s Club, a member of Left Fork Hunting Camp, and a member of the Deer Valley Golf Course - Senior Golf League. Bill also served as an elder for the Highspire First Church of God.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Suzanne M. (Plut) Knerr; two loving children, Stacey A. Knerr, Harrisburg, and Will M. Knerr and fiancé Steven of Tremont; three brothers Robert Knerr and his wife Elizabeth, Harrisburg, PA, Barry Knerr and wife Candy of Landisburg, PA, and Brad Knerr and wife Deb of Cle Elum, Washington; sister-in-law, Dee Wojdylak of Mechanicsburg, PA; and an uncle, multiple aunts, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday August 17, 2021 at 1:00 pm in the Highspire First Church of God, 115 2nd St. Highspire PA 17034, with the Rev. Dave Anderson, Officiating. A Visitation will be held on Monday August 16, 2021 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 357 South Harrisburg St. Oberlin PA. Burial will full military honors will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
