Joseph M. Vasco, 63, of Lower Paxton Township, died suddenly Tuesday, January 29, 2019 in the Penn State - Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
He was the owner of Platinum Fitness Center, Carlisle; a graduate of Steelton-Highspire High School Class of 1973 and Clarion University Class of 1978, and a member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, where he served as a faithful usher.
Joe was the son of the late Anthony Vasco, Jr. and Dorothy G. Simonic Vasco and is survived by two brothers, Anthony Vasco, III and wife, Kelly of Franklintown and Mark S. Vasco and wife, Deborah of Richmond, VA; one sister, Diane M. Pantoliano of Brooklyn, NY; and best friend, Candida Arena of Carlisle; several nieces and nephews, Katie and Lindsey Vasco, Nicole and Butchy Vasco, Katash, Tasha and Vincent Pantoliano; and several great nieces and great nephews.
Joe was an avid runner, active athlete and for many years was a runner, who many may remember, whose route took him through the streets of Steelton and Lower Paxton Township.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 11:00 am in Prince of Peace - Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, with the Very Rev. David L. Danneker, Pastor, as Celebrant. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery at the conclusion of Mass. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 am - 10:30 am in Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 357 S. Second Street, Steelton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Prince of Peace Parish, 815 South Second Street, Steelton, PA 17113.
