Ida S. Carnes, 57, of Steelton, died Thursday, May 16, 2019 in Select Specialty - Harrisburg.
Ida was the daughter of the late Theodore R. Carnes Sr. and Dorothy I. Lyter Carnes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother William Carnes, sister Dorothy Ann Koons, grandparents Russell and Ida Lyter and William and Annie Carnes and brother-in-law Joseph Sviben.
Ida graduated in 1980 from Steelton-Highspire High School. She worked at Camp Hill Art Press, Shaw Industries and PHEAA. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with family, and cheering on Penn State and the Philadelphia Eagles.
She is survived by her son-in-love Joseph (Valerie) Miller. Four brothers, Russell (Linda) Carnes, Theodore (Colleen) Carnes, Dana (Nicole) Hinkle and Milton Carnes. Two sisters, Kathy Sviben and Beth Ann (Howard) Carnes. Three grandchildren, Brayden, Brooklin and Trystan Miller. Many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
Ida was the most selfless woman who devoted her entire life to her family and friends. A true angel on Earth. She was one in a million and will be missed dearly.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 11:00 am in Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 357 South Second Street, Steelton, with Rev. Wayne Muthler, Officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am - 11:00 am in the funeral home.
