Helen "Biserka" (nee Krstin) Vasity, 93, of Manheim, entered her eternal rest on Friday October 11, 2019. She slipped away peacefully after a series of medical issues.
Born in Romania on December 07, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Djura and Desanka Krstin. She and her family went to Canada for a better life where she shared a home with her two sisters Nera Krstin and Sida (nee krstin) Vlaisavljevic.
On May 18, 1946, she met the love of her life, Louis Vasity, of whom she was married to for 74 glorious years. First living in New Jersey, then Jonestown where they spent many long years with their two dogs, and many visits from their family and friends. Helen then moved to Gretna Springs where she made many new friends and was closer to church. Helen enjoyed quilting, crocheting blankets for every baby born to anyone she knew, baking, cooking and loving the 19 godchildren she an Lou shared together.
Helen was a very active member of St. Nicholas Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church in Oberlin, she was a member of the Circle of Serbian Sisters, the Serbian Club and the St. Nicholas seniors. Helen was always there for her family and friends, offering her time, love and devotion to them all.
Helen is survived by her beloved husband, Louis Vasity, her sisters Nera Krstin, Sida (Janet) Vlaisavljevic, and her husband Radomir; Nephews, Nicholas and Daniel Vlaisavljevic; niece Desanie Miller, her husband Robert; grand-nephew, Benjamin Miller; grand-niece, Rachel Miller; Ermina Guth, and her husband Daniel, and their precious child, Nadia( of whom Helen adored), numerous friends and relatives.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday October 17, 2019 at 11:00 am in St. Nicholas Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church, 601 S. Harrisburg St. Oberlin, PA 17113, with Rev. Christopher S. Rocknage, as Celebrant. A Viewing will be held from 9:30 am to 11:00 am in her church. Burial will be in Churchville Cemetery, Oberlin. Arrangements by Wiedeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services- Steelton.
