Frances P. (Gustin) Hernjak, 90, of Steelton, died Wednesday, January 22, 2020 in Homeland Center, Harrisburg. Fran was a member of the former St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Steelton, a member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, and was a member of the Council of Catholic Women. She was very active in so many activities at the church, including the spaghetti dinners and making Easter eggs. "Fritz", as she was affectionately known to her family and close friends, most importantly, treasured the love of her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary Dolinar Gustin and was the widow of James A. Hernjak. Fran is survived by her son, James R. Hernjak and his wife, Patricia of Middletown and her daughter, Christine Hernjak of Enhaut, and her son-in-law, James M. Yetter of Oberlin; seven grandchildren, James G. Hernjak of Houston, TX; Nicholas Hernjak and his wife, Jo Ann of Wilmington, DE; Tara Fisher and her husband, Peter of Hummelstown; Matthew Mulligan and his wife, Jenny of Philadelphia; Michael Mulligan of Enhaut; Jeffrey Yetter of Harrisburg; and Gregory Yetter and his wife, Moira of Harrisburg; great grandchildren, Olivia Mulligan, Jacob Fisher, John Nicholas Hernjak, and Cole Thomas Yetter; one brother, Robert A. Gustin, Sr. and his wife, Clara of Mechanicsburg. She was predeceased by her daughter, Francine Yetter, her brothers, Edward and Nicholas Gustin, and her sisters, Barbara Kramer, Mary Hollern, and Anna Rose Albanese. The family would like to thank the staff of Homeland Assisted Living and Homeland Hospice for the excellent care they provided Fran and all the love they showed to her and our family. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at 2:00 pm in Prince of Peace-Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, Steelton with Very Rev. David L.Danneker, her Pastor, as Celebrant. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 12 Noon until 1:30 pm in Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 357 S. Second St., Steelton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, 815 S. Second St., Steelton, PA 17113.
