Obituary of Mary Pinizzotto
Mary M. Potami Pinizzotto, 97, of Steelton, died Friday, July 28, 2017 in The Middletown Home.
She was the former Cafeteria Manager for St. John Neumann Parochial School, Steelton; a former member of St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, Steelton; a member of the Cathedral Parish of St. Patrick, Harrisburg; and was a member of the first Board of ARC.
Mary was an American of Italian descent, born and raised in Steelton and proud of it. She was the last of the original seven spaghetti and ravioli makers at the original St. Ann's.
Mary was the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Raffella Rachiele Potami and the widow of Anthony N. Pinizzotto. She is survived by two daughters, Victoria A. O'Leary and her husband, Joseph of Steelton and Virginia R. Pinizzotto at home; two sons, Vincent J. Pinizzotto and his wife, Andra of Harrisburg and Rev. Anthony J. Pinizzotto, Assistant Pastor of St. Luke's Parish, McLean, VA; two sisters, Jenny McKinley and Ginny Magnelli, both of Harrisburg; three grandchildren, Joseph A. O'Leary, Aimee DeRobbio, and Angela Schee and her husband, Ethan; three great grandchildren, Kaya DeRobbio, Samuel O'Leary and Anthony Schee; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel and Joseph Potami and four sisters, Angela Pinizzotto, Blanche Bowie, Theresa Potami and Lucy Cunko.
Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 12 Noon in Murray Hall of St.Catherine Laboure Parish, 4000 Derry St., Swatara Twp. with Rev. Anthony J. Pinizzotto, her son, as Principal Celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:30 am until 12 Noon in Murray Hall. Arrangements are being handled by Wiedeman Funeral Home, Steelton.
