Obituary of William Flickinger

William Joseph Flickinger, 71 of Steelton and Highspire, died Sunday, April 15, 2018.

He was born September 7, 1946 in Harrisburg to the late William B. and Maria R. DiBello Flickinger.

Bill attended St. James Roman Catholic School. After school, he enlisted in the United States Navy. He was a member of the former St. James Roman Catholic Church and is a member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, Steelton.

He worked for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania - Capitol Police for the Department of Revenue. He loved all Steelton sports and was an avid Penn State Fan. He also loved spending time with his family and friends. In his early years, he enjoyed watching Roller Derby Bouts.

William is survived by one sister, Mary Ann Baranowski; several cousins and relatives here and in Italy.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 11:00 am in Prince of Peace - Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 815 South Second Street, Steelton, with the Very Rev. David L. Danneker, Pastor, Celebrant. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with full Military Honors. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am - 11:00 am in the church. Arrangements by Wiedeman Funeral Home, Steelton.
