Obituary of Henry Schonewolf

Henry M. “Hank” Schonewolf, age 74 of Middletown, formerly of Chambers Hill and Steelton, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018 in the Masonic Health Center, Elizabethtown. He was born on March 25, 1944 in Harrisburg, the son of the late John and Elizabeth Schonewolf.

He was a graduate of Steelton-Highspire High School and Millersville University. Hank retired in 1997 after teaching for 31 years. He coached basketball for 17 years, and enjoyed being part of all the sports and activities his sons were involved in. He was a member of St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church, Highspire.

Henry is survived by his wife of 46 and a half years, Sally Leedy Schonewolf, his sons Kevin M. of Enola and Scott K. and his companion Shelley Bittle of Marion, Illinois. He is also survived by his sister Joyce Younkin, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other extended family.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday June 13, 2018 at 11:00 am in St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church, 240 Broad St. Highspire, PA, with his Pastor Chuck Utter presiding, and Rev. Harold S. Fox, Co-Officiating. A Viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in the church. Arrangements by Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Steelton.
