Obituary of Margaret Neagley
Margaret E. Neagley, 95, of Harrisburg, died Sunday, June 17, 2018 in Pine Run Health Center, Doylestown.
She was born Margaret Elizabeth Good on August 22, 1922 in Harrisburg to Clinton P. and Minnie (Bowerman) Good. She was Baptized on September 21, 1922 and Confirmed in her Christian Faith on April 5, 1936 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Harrisburg.
Margaret graduated from John Harris High School and worked as a secretary for the Harrisburg Chamber of Commerce and later, the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania.
On July 6, 1947, she married Daniel Lee Neagley, who had served Honorably in the U.S. Navy during WWII and later worked as a quality control engineer at TRW - Harrisburg. Margaret enjoyed caring for her family and volunteering at her church through the Lutheran Women's Missionary League, the Altar Guild and various women's groups. Throughout her life, Margaret was a faithful member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Calvary Lutheran Church and Ascension Lutheran Church, all of Harrisburg; and St. John Lutheran Church, York.
Margaret was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dan; dear brother Russell; and beloved parents Clinton and Minnie Good. She is survived by her two sons and their families: Reverend Richard L. Neagley and wife, Claire; Mr. Jeffrey Neagley and wife, Mary; 3 grandchildren, Rebekah (Neagley) Taboada (husband, Dan); Daniel E. Neagley and Jane E. Neagley; 1 great-grandson, Noah E. Taboada and step-grandson, Sage Gionet. She is also survived by a loving sister-in-law, Margie Crosbie of San Diego, CA and dear nephew, Bob Good and wife Donna, of Etters, PA.
Graveside services and burial will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 11:00 am in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 4855 Londonderry Road, Harrisburg, with the Rev. Robert Green, Pastor, Ascension Lutheran Church - Harrisburg, Officiating. Per Margaret's wishes, there will be no viewing or visitation. Arrangements by Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Harrisburg.
