Obituary of Lucy Coleman

Lucy F. (Rohacek) Coleman, 90, of Harrisburg passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 6, 1928 in Harrisburg, the daughter of the late Andrew and Melissa (Funk) Rohacek. She lived in Harrisburg for the last 12 years and previously in Steelton for over 70 years.

She was the matriarch of her family; from the traditions, togetherness and closeness she shared with them all. She will be loved and remembered for her kindness and selflessness.

So many wonderful and loving memories will be cherished by Lucy’s survivors which include her son, Earl S. Coleman, Jr. (Carol) of Steelton; her four daughters, Debra A. Figley (Steve) of Marysville, Catherine E. Coleman of Harrisburg, Frances M. Leitner (Rick) of Fort Myers, FL and Jill M. Perez (George) of Harrisburg; thirteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren who she adored; her sister, Nancy L. Mateer of Harrisburg; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl S. Coleman, Sr.; her daughter, Tina M. McClendon; her son, Douglas E. Coleman; her grandson Earl S. Coleman III; her brothers, Andrew G. Rohacek, Thomas F. Rohacek, Jacob L. Rohacek and Joseph M. Rohacek; and her sisters, Ellen M. Pugh, Lillie E. Thorn, Beverly J. Eichelberger and Patricia A. Coleman.

A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary of Steelton Mennonite Church, 501 North 3rd Street, Steelton, PA 17113 with Pastor Victor Romain officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service in the church. After the celebration of life everyone is invited to meet in the church social hall.
