Obituary of Rosemarie Madara
Rosemarie R. Bratina (Snookie) Madara, 79, of Harrisburg, went to be with the Lord, on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at UPMC - Pinnacle Community Osteopathic Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, after an unexpected illness.
Rosemarie graduated from Harrisburg Catholic High School, Class of 1957. Rosemarie was a employee of the former Olmsted Air Force Base in Middletown and a homemaker. Snookie enjoyed reading the Bible, birdwatching, gardening, and tending to her houseplants. She was a member of the former St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Steelton and a member of St. Catherine Laboure Roman Catholic Church.
She was born on December 2, 1939, in Harrisburg to the late Joseph J. and Theresa A. Kostyal Bratina. Rosemarie was preceded in death by her husband, Richard G. Madara and her son, Richard E. Madara and brother Joseph J. Bratina, Jr. Snookie is survived by two daughters, Laura Lee Minnich and husband Richard, Enola, and Kristina Lynn Hosler and husband Charles, Harrisburg; three grandchildren, Nicholas R. Minnich, Taylor J. Baker, Daniel C. Hosler; two sisters, Dolores Schoch and husband Bruce, VA, Terry and husband Michael Rowe, Harrisburg; one brother, Anthony Bratina, Harrisburg; numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 11:00 am at St. Catherine Laboure Roman Catholic Church, 4000 Derry Street, Harrisburg, with the Rev. Kevin J. Coyle, Celebrant. Burial in Resurrection Cemetery.
