Obituary of Carl Moyer
Carl E. Moyer "Pete", 88, of Chambers Hill, died Sunday, October 20, 2019 in UPMC Pinnacle - Community Hospital.
Pete was a Graduate of Steelton High School, Class of 1949, a retired Machinist for the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation and member of Centenary United Methodist Church, Swatara Twp. He was a local Fire Photographer for over 30 years. Former Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 202; Past President of the Chambers Hill Fire Company, Life Member and Past President of Dauphin County Volunteer Fireman's Association; Life Member and Past President of Fireman's Association of Southeastern, PA; Life Member, Steelton Fire Department, Life Member, West Side Hose Company #3, Pennsylvania Pump Primers, Central PA Fire Buffs, St. Lawrence Club, 50 year member of the former Steelton Moose, Life Member of Mt. Pleasant Fire Company - Harrisburg and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
Carl was the son of the late Clarence and Mildred Smith Moyer, was preceded in death by his beloved son, Richard C. Moyer and is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Dorothy P. Gorse Moyer; sons, Jeffrey M. Moyer and wife Lichelle, James R. Moyer and Larry J. Moyer; daughter, Carol A. Habecker; daughter-in-law, Mary B. Klaus; three grandsons, Jeffrey M. Moyer, Jason A. Moyer and Joseph D. Habecker and granddaughter, Katelynn Moyer; 9 great-grandchildren; one brother, Thomas Moyer.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 from 9:00 am - 11:00 am in Centenary United Methodist Church, 1010 Orchard Drive, Swatara Township. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 am in the church with Rev. Kevin Hughes and Rev. Robert Ryder, Officiating. Burial at the conclusion of services will be in Churchville Cemetery, Oberlin. Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. - Steelton, is handling arrangements.
