Obituary of Joan Bernardo

Joan A. Lina Bernardo, 85, of Steelton, died Tuesday, December 17, 2019 in UPMC Pinnacle Community Osteopathic Hospital. She was a member of the former St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, Steelton and a member of Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, Middletown. Joan was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Bauman Lina and the widow of Quincy P. Bernardo, Jr. She is survived by one daughter, Joan DeHart and her husband, Christopher of Lower Swatara Twp.; one son, Joseph A. Bernardo and his wife, Deborah of Chambers Hill; three grandchildren, Nicole Taylor and her husband, Sean, Joseph Bernardo and his wife, Amanda, and Stefani Brown and her husband, Brandon; one great grandson, Callen. Joan was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Fanus. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 10:00 am in Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, Middletown with Rev. Ted Keating, her Pastor, as Celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Saturday from 9:30 am until 10:00 am in her church. Arrangements are being handled by Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Steelton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Seven Sorrows Church, 280 N. Race St., Middletown, PA 17057 or Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17110.
