Obituary of Edward Raffensberger

Edward G. Raffensberger, 85, of Susquehanna Township, passed in the comfort of his home on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 with his wife of 59 years by his side. He was retired from the Teamsters Local #776, a former driver for Roadway Express, and a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, Susquehanna Twp. Ed was the son of the late Edward H. and Alice E. Holmes Raffensberger and is survived by his loving wife, Gertrude Pohner Raffensberger; three sons, Scott E. Raffensberger and his wife, Charlene of North Carolina, Larry M. Raffensberger of Bainbridge, and Daniel P. Raffensberger of the Poconos; one sister, Margaret Ruff of Susquehanna Twp.; three grandchildren, Curtis, Kari and Jake Raffensberger; and one great granddaughter, Kaylee Raffensberger; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Dennis Raffensberger; and two sisters, Ruth Waizenegger and Mary Blecker. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at 11:00 am in St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, 2800 Paxton Church Rd., Susquehanna Twp. with Rev. Leo Goodman, his Pastor, as Celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery with full military honors. Viewing will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Steelton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
