Obituary of William Bekelja

William M. Bekelja, 71, of Lower Swatara Township, died suddenly on Monday, April 13, 2020 in his home. He was a retired employee of Defense Distribution Center, New Cumberland, a member of Prince of Peace Roman CatholicParish, Steelton, the Bishop Joseph T. Daley Council #3625 of Knights of Columbus, St. Lawrence Lodge No.13, Croatian Fraternal Union. William was the son of the late William F. and Mary C. Lescanec Bekelja and is survived by two sons, Kyle W. Bekelja of Kearneysville, WV and Justin M. Bekelja of Glendo, WY; four sisters, Yvonne M. Bekelja of Bressler, Kathleen A. Drace and husband, Gary of Elizabethtown, Celeste M. Slothower and husband, Mark of Middletown, and Eileen M. Taylor of Mechanicsburg; one brother, John M. Bekelja and wife, Olga of Hummelstown; one granddaughter, Airelynn Bekelja; and his companion, Mariann Geegee-Sersch. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Michael Taylor Private Funeral Services will be held in Wiedeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Steelton, with further Graveside Services at Resurrection Cemetery with Very Rev. David L. Danneker officiating. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Croatian Franciscan Friars, 4848 So. Ellis Ave., Chicago, IL 60615 or Prince of Peace Parish, 815 S. Second St., Steelton, PA 17113.
