Noah Spangler

Obituary of Noah Michael Spangler

On April 11, 2020, Noah Michael Spangler went home to be with his Lord and Savior. Noah was born February 8, 1996 and raised in Harrisburg, PA. He was a Bishop McDevitt High School graduate, class of 2014. Noah is the son of Michelle “Shelly" Sample (Donnie) of Harrisburg and Jeff Spangler (Claire de Boer) of Mount Gretna. Noah passionately loved and cared for his family: his sister Hailey Spangler, brothers Ryan Carricato (Kelsey) and Don Sample Jr. (Alicia), grandparents Carrianne Carroll, Donna Brandt (Gary) and Michael Spangler (Bridget Montgomery), his uncles, aunts and cousins, his girlfriend Savanna Wolf and his Goldendoodle, Buddy. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Clyde “Bud” Zeigler. Growing up, Noah was an avid baseball player. He enjoyed playing from a young age, starting with T-ball and continuing every year to Legion level with the Susquehanna Township Baseball League. He earned his letter playing varsity all four years at McD. He also played on two RBI select teams, one of which made it to the national championship finals played in the Minnesota Twins stadium in Minneapolis, MN. Noah was always up for the challenge of sports. And, for those who knew him, it is no surprise that he also challenged his coaches at times. He was a gifted left-handed pitcher and liked to call his own pitches! He made life-long friendships and had many great memories through his love of the sport. He always strived to be the best. Noah struggled with addiction as a teen and young adult, but he was very proud to have graduated from a 14-month long program at Teen Challenge of Southern California. Afterward, Noah was pursuing a degree in computer networking at Riverside City College and was working in his field at TEKsystems in Newport Beach. He recently achieved his Cisco Computer Network Associate Certification. If you know anything about computer networking, you know how difficult this test is! He felt proud and excited about his vision for the future. Noah overcame significant hurdles and was achieving the goals we all knew he could. Noah touched the lives of many along the way. He was blessed not only by family, but by many friends, classmates, teachers, coaches, teammates, recovery supporters, and others. His big beautiful smile, warm hugs and ability to make others laugh are precious gifts that will never be forgotten. In his final act of kindness, Noah gave the gift of Organ Donation. We are absolutely heartbroken and devastated to have lost this magnificent, precious soul, so dear to us and way too soon. We will miss Noah deeply. His spirit lives on eternally and we will carry him with us always. He served his purpose in such a short time. We are very blessed for the 24 years we had with him. His life was important and it mattered. Forever wouldn’t have been long enough. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Noah Spangler to Teen Challenge of Southern California (Inland Empire). A celebration of his life will be planned at a future date, post shelter-in-place. Arrangements are being handled by Wiedeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Steelton.
