Obituary of Betty Penica

Betty Jane (Gilbert) Penica, 83, of Linglestown, PA, passed away peacefully at home on June 2, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. Betty is survived by her husband of 64 years, Joseph Victor Penica, children Wanda, Linda, Judy, Joe, and sister Jacqueline Day. Mimi was blessed with 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Betty is preceded in death by her parents David and Elizabeth Gilbert of Enhaut, her brother David Earl Jr. of Duncannon, and her grandson Evan Krammes. Betty was a graduate of Swatara Township High School, president of Swatara Alumni Association, homemaker, member of Holy Name of Jesus Church, typesetter for The Paxton Herald, owner/operator of Jo-Bet Phototypesetting Service, lifetime member of St. Aloysius Club Lodge 42 and also St. Lawrence FCU Lodge 13, honorary member of St. Mary’s Catholic Club and also The Dutch Club, member of Bressler Club, and one of the founding members of Capital City Polka Dancers Association. She was a cafeteria worker at Central Dauphin Senior High School and a faithful fan of Penn State football.
