Obituary of Josephine Curley

Josephine S. Curley, 83, of Lower Paxton Twp., died peacefully at her home on Sunday November 1, 2020. Josephine was predeceased by her husband William (Bill), her daughter Anne and her parents Francis and Anna Stec. She is survived by her two sons and their wives, Brian and Karen Curley of Chester, NJ and Kevin and Eileen Curley of Hershey, and her granddaughter Maura Curley and grandson Patrick Curley. Josephine retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. She was a faithful member of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Roman Catholic Church, for over 60 years, where she served as a proud coach for several years to the St. Margaret Mary School girls cheerleading team. She loved the Lord and her family above all else. She did a recitation of the Rosary with EWTN every afternoon, and those close to her knew not to call her during "rosary" time. She was a fan of TV game shows, especially Jeopardy, and did daily crossword puzzles, Sudoku, numbers and jigsaw puzzles, and was an avid reader. Raising two sons, she was also a passionate football fan, especially Notre Dame college football, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Philadelphia Eagles. Those who knew her, knew not to bother her on weekends while football games were on TV, especially Notre Dame. A private service will be held for immediate family at Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Oberlin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Monday November 9, at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Roman Catholic Church, 2800 Paxton Church Rd., Harrisburg. COVID-19 restrictions, face masks, and social distancing will be enforced. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Swatara Twp. Floral arrangements may be sent to Wiedeman Funeral Home and donations may be made to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Roman Catholic Church, 2800 Paxton Church Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
